Specialty: Entomology.Research experience:32 years as an Entomology Researcher at the National Institute for Forestry, Agricultural and Livestock Research (INIFAP). Currently Main Researcher at the General Terán Experimental Field, Nuevo Leon, MX. She represents INIFAP at the IICA-Procinorte Plant Health Task Force. Level II National Researcher at the National System for Researches. Lead Researcher for the Asian Citrus Psyllid -Huanglongbing.

Marta Elva Ramírez Guzmán - Professor and Principal Researcher, Colegio de Postgraduados, Mexico. SENASICA’s consultant since 2006. Professor of Statistics at: CIMMYT, Institute for Technology and Higher Education of Monterrey and the UNAM. She has offered training in different financial institutions: HSBC, BANPARIBAS, Financiera Rural and private institutions: AENOR and IAP. She has published over 50 scientific articles and two books in statistics.

Emilia Bustos-Griffin started her career as a food irradiation researcher with the Mexican National Institute for Nuclear Research (ININ). Her research resulted in irradiation doses that have been globally adopted for fruit pests.  She has been an expert in working groups organized under the aegis of the North American Plant Protection Organization (NAPPO) and the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) for the elaboration of regional and international standards for the use of irradiation as a phytosanitary treatment.  She has provided assistance to industry. She was part of the team to establish the International Database on Commodity Tolerance (IDCT) with the International Atomic Energy Agency.    Currently, Emilia is a Senior Research Scholar with the Center for Integrated Pest Management at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC.

Karl Suiter is the Associate Director for the NSF Center for Integrated Pest Management at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC, USA.  He joined the Center in 2003 and currently serves as the Center’s IT Director and Principal Investigator, responsible for overseeing and managing several of the Center’s Biosecurity and Information Systems Applications for a diverse group of clients. 

Karl has extensive international work experience developing IT projects in East Africa for the COMESA trade group and working with Caribbean Invasive Species Working Group (CISWG) to develop IT infrastructure to support international trade. Karl received his Masters’ in Botany from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Ph. D. in Entomology from North Carolina State University, and was a NSF Postdoctoral Fellow in genomics at Duke University in Durham, NC
