Regional standards are defined as standards developed and approved by a Regional Plant Protection Organization for the guidance of the members stakeholders of that organization. NAPPO develops science-based regional standards for phytosanitary measures which are intended to protect agricultural, forest and other plant resources against regulated plant pests, while facilitating safe trade. Regional standards are region specific, in other words, they should not be used as guidance for countries outside of the North American continent.
