Medical Insurance

The meeting organizers are not responsible for individual or travel insurance for any meeting attendees. All participants are encouraged to purchase their own travel insurance before travelling to Mexico.

 

Exchange rate and currency

• Mexican Peso (MXN): The official currency is the peso, denoted by the $ symbol (often written as MXN to avoid confusion with U.S. dollars).

Spanish: The de facto official language.

English in Polanco: Because Polanco is a major international, diplomatic, and luxury business hub, English is widely spoken by hotel staff, high-end restaurant servers, and concierge services. However, learning a few polite Spanish phrases (Hola, Por favor, Gracias) is always appreciated.

 

Electricity

Mexico uses the same plug types (Type A and B) and voltage (127V) as the United States and Canada. US travelers do not need a power adapter.

(Type A works on sockets type A and B while Type B will not work on sockets type A)
